Dr. Wong is an accredited and multi-skilled dermatologist, having undergone specialist training in Dermatology, Skin Surgery and Laser both in Singapore as well as in UK. He also underwent Research Fellowship in Skin cancer in Skin tumour laboratory UK from 1998 to 2000.

Assurance Skin Clinic provides surgery for biopsy, skin cancer or skin lesions under local anaesthesia in the operating room of our clinic. Our clinic is MOH-accredited Day Surgery Centre and thus we will E-file insurance claims for eligible medical skin surgery done in our clinic.

Alternatively, we can perform the surgery in the 2 day surgery centres in Camden Medical Centre, according to your preference or insurance requirement.

Preoperative consultation and financial counselling

Dr Wong will assess your skin issues and offer his diagnosis and recommendation. You can discuss your concern, the need for operation and its benefits and risks with Dr Wong. There may be alternative surgical options available such as cryosurgery, laser surgery or electrosurgery. Dr Wong will discuss all options, including no surgery, with you so that you can make an informed decision on which treatment you would like.

Full financial counselling will be done and you will know the cost of the procedures before you decide. Rest assured, we refer to the latest benchmark surgical fees guidelines laid down by the Ministry of Health Singapore.

Our clinic is an MOH-Accredited Day Surgery Centre and we have a fully equipped in-house operation room for skin surgery. More than 95% of our skin surgeries (elective or emergency) are done in our clinic under E-filing arrangement. However, you can request for admission into a hospital or accredited Day Surgery Operating Theatre (DSOT) e.g. Cura Day Surgery or Novaptus Surgery Centre, Parkway Hospitals for your surgery. If that is your preference, the hospitals / DSOT will do the E-filing on your behalf.

The operation

During your surgery, your wellbeing is our main focus. All lesions excised will be sent to accredited laboratories for analysis. Almost all patients are treated as “day-cases,” which means that you can leave shortly after your procedure.

Most of the skin procedures are done under local anaesthesia. If you prefer, we can arrange for an anaesthetist to administer deep intravenous sedation or general anaesthesia for your surgery.

Post-operative care

We will counsel you on how to look after your wound to minimise the risk of bleeding and infection. A follow-up visit for wound dressing and stitch removal will be arranged as required by Dr Wong. During the review visit, the result of the laboratory analysis will also be discussed.
