Ultraformer III is the 3rd generation skin lifting ultrasound device that is currently very popular in Korea. It uses HIFU technology and here’s how it works:
The treatment takes about an hour to an hour and a half. Your face will be cleansed before the ultrasound gel is applied. Dr Wong then adjusts the Ultraformer HIFU settings and begins treatment.
During the treatment, you will feel warm to hot pulses of ultrasound energy deep in your skin. This causes skin layers to contract. Patients describe this as slightly uncomfortable, mildly stinging or even moderately painful. While the new HIFU machine is generally more comfortable, the level of discomfort depends on your personal pain tolerance and the area being treated. Dr Wong will try to make every treatment as comfortable as possible and will administer local anaesthesia on the treated area if needed.
Immediately after the treatment, your face will look slightly puffier which will resolve in 2 to 4 days. However ideal results come 60 to 100 days after treatment when the collagen regeneration becomes noticeable, whereby the skin will look fresher & rejuvenated.
One to two treatments per year, depending on your age and the severity of skin sagging. The second treatment is usually scheduled 5 to 7 months later. Results usually last about a year or two and you may decide to have further treatment when the results start to wear off.
