What is Optima IPL Technology?

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology, also referred to as photofacial, was invented by Lumenis in the 1990s. IPL utilises the energy of non-coherent light to address a variety of benign skin conditions.

OPT (Optima IPL) is an upgraded version of IPL technology that combines both IPL and unique Optimal Pulse Technology (OPT). It provides safe and comfortable treatment for over 30 different skin indications.

What is Stellar M22 OPT (Optima IPL)?

How Does Stellar M22 OPT (Optima IPL) Work?

  • Stellar M22 OPT (Optima IPL) consists of 9 easily changeable ExpertFilters targeting brown and red pigment in the skin. Each light pulse penetrates the skin tissue and creates controlled destruction to the imperfections (e.g pigments, acne bacteria, unwanted hair and veins) while leaving the surrounding healthy skin and vessels unaffected.  On top of helping to reduce hyperpigmentation, removing hair and inflammatory acne, Stellar M22 OPT (Optima IPL) firms skin and improves the appearance of fine lines through photorejuvenation.
  • OPT (Optima IPL) technology controls pulse shape and length distributing the energy more evenly within individual and sub-pulses. This technology drastically maximizes the safety margin during treatment for darker skin, which is so prone to burn injury caused by aesthetic light devices.
  • Three SapphireCool light guides, for large and small areas, provide cooling between pulses, maximising your comfort throughout the procedure.

What Happens During A Stellar M22 OPT (Optima IPL) Treatment?

  • First, Dr. Wong will clean the treated area and  apply  a cool gel onto your skin. You will be given a goggle to protect your eyes during the treatment.
  • Then, Dr. Wong will apply light pulses from Stellar M22 OPT (Optima IPL) to your skin.

FAQs About The Stellar M22 OPT (Optima IPL) Treatment In Singapore

Is Stellar M22 OPT (Optima IPL) right for me?

The Stellar M22 OPT (Optima IPL) treatment is suitable for both women and men searching for a non-surgical, non-invasive treatment to reduce the appearance of pigmentation, improve the overall skin texture and tone, lighten vascular lesions as well as remove unwanted hair.

During your consultation, Dr. Wong will thoroughly evaluate your skin condition and help determine a solution tailored to your individual needs and concerns.

Stellar M22 OPT (Optima IPL) should not be used for individuals with active infections or viral/fungal/bacterial diseases.

Is Stellar M22 OPT (Optima IPL) suitable for sensitive skin?

Stellar M22 OPT (Optima IPL) allows us to personalise treatments according to our clients’ individual skin tones and conditions, making it perfectly safe and effective for all skin types.

    Is the treatment painful?

While everyone’s pain tolerance differs, the Stellar M22 OPT (Optima IPL) treatment does not cause that much discomfort and is very tolerable. During the procedure, you may feel stinging sensations as light pulses penetrate your skin.

Which part of the body can Stellar M22 OPT (Optima IPL) treat?

Stellar M22 OPT (Optima IPL) can be used to treat any area of the body. The most common areas are the face, neck, chest, hands and legs.

    What preparations are required?

No changes to your normal routine are necessary, except to limit excessive sun exposure 1-2  weeks both before and after treatment.

How many sessions do I need?

The number of sessions depends on the skin concern to be treated and will be determined by Dr. Wong during the consultation.

At Assurance Skin, we typically recommend undergoing a series of 3-6 treatments with an interval of 4-6 weeks, for best results. Excluding numbing time, each treatment session is quick, taking 10-15 minutes to perform.

When will I see the results?

You will see some gradual improvements in pigmentation and skin texture after the first treatment. Further enhancements in skin elasticity and complexion will steadily develop within 6 months following the treatment.

What are the downtime and side effects?

The treatment is associated with minimal to no downtime, allowing you to get back to your daily activities and wear makeup right after the procedure. You may notice redness on the skin for 1-2 days. You can apply a cold compress to soothe the treated area.

Often, pigmentation lesions that have been treated will scab over and fall off within a week after the procedure.

    What are the aftercare guidelines?

Avoid prolonged unprotected sun exposure and apply sunscreen appropriately.
